Snowed in

Submitted by Tom Jenness on Sat, 02/23/2008 - 00:34.

Hello to everyone out there. The title indicates we have lots of snow. Coeur d Alene has recorded a record snowfall of 124 inches. We escaped for 10 days in Arizona where the natives were wearing sweaters and jackets and complaining about how cold it was. We spent the whole time in short sleeved shirts and basking in the sun. The best part of the trip was spent in Sedona, Arizona. If you have not been there to see the red rocks take the opportunity to go. We are busy in the church. Carole' is the Saturday Women's coordinator at the temple in Spokane. At the small temples you do all of the ordinance so she coordinates all of the work to move people around on the busiest day of the week in the temple. I go along and perform ordinances and we both love the work. Carole' teaches the Luarels on Sunday and a I serve as the executive secretary to help our bishop in a vary challenging ward. God bless all out there. We send our love. Tom and Carole'

February love.

Submitted by Ellen Bethers on Sat, 02/16/2008 - 06:38.

Fresno finds us alive and kicking, but just barely. Actually, things are looking up. Larry is adjusting to a new boss, and the new boss is adjusting to him. It's been a rough beginning, but things are smoothing out now.

One of the things we've loved about Fresno is the diversity of wonderful people here. From illegal immigrants and parolees working to change their lives, to
affluent members of our ward and influential community leaders, our friends come from so many different walks of life. It's really amazing how fascinatingly fantastic each person is. Sometimes I wish I could keep a book of their stories.

As far as church goes, Larry serves in the High Priest group leadership, and I serve in the Stake Primary. Kind of funny, huh? I never would have guessed I'd be in a stake calling.

Emily (1) keeps us hopping. We took down the bunk bed ladder, hoping to discourage outrageously dangerous climbing, but she has now discovered that she can use the dresser next to the bed as a sort of step stool to get her to the top. She likes to test the ingenuity of your average American parent. It's a bit wearying.

Life is good!

Submitted by Cynthia Barlow on Thu, 02/14/2008 - 03:26.

Okay, so I stole the title from my husband. It's one of his favorite things to say, and it's true! We were married March 16, 2007, so our one year anniversary is next month. We don't know how we'll be celebrating it yet, but it will be great. We live in West Valley, and attend what Carson likes to call "the young married ward." Our ward consists of 3 apartment complexes, so there are a lot of young couples. We are both working and Carson is also going to school at ITT Tech full time. I am in the Primary Presidency and I love it!

Gavin aka -- Mr. Mischief

Submitted by Charla Buchanan on Sat, 02/09/2008 - 23:21.

Gavin aka -- Mr. Mischief

We try really hard to stick to the rule at our house that all markers and pen are to be kept out of reach of our two year old. We apparently missed this one. The good news is that it is washable marker. The bad news is, that on upholstery, washable marker might as well be permenent marker. After I found, and photoed our minor disaster, I emailed the picture to Dave with the title "I'm thinking I'd like new furniture for the front room." I guess he had pretty good laugh, because he forwarded to most everyone he knows.
